Description
From the Ancient Middle East, the area that today forms the north western part of Persia, the legendary Luristan that produced some of the earliest bronze weapons and objects depicting animals. Here we have a beautifully modelled figure of a deer, which was probably given as a dedication to a temple by hunters in need of preserving the numbers of their major food staple. Good patina and oxidation.
