Dating to the Hellenistic or early Roman Period, this faience piece from Ancient Egypt,shows the god Ptah in his Hellenized form. He is a dwarf god who protects humans from snakes and crocodiles and often appears with exaggerated forehead as in this example. Great color, excellent modelling.
