Description
Rare, handsome, and important container in the shape of a squat bulbous sphere in spun alabaster, a great quality bowl which attests to the height that the civilization of the Biblical Fertile Crescent achieved during the Chalcolithic and later millennia of antiquity until the Late Roman Era, c. 4,000 to BC to early AD centuries. (At that time-hard to believe- the land from Syria to the Zagros Mountains in ancient Persia used to feed the entire Roman Empire! Man’s folly made sure to change all that.) This beautiful alabaster vase has it all, beguiling shape, great antiquity, excellent condition and great decorative value.
Size: 5 ½” in. diameter x 4” in. H.
