Description
The intaglio, dating to ca. 2nd-3rd century A.D., is set in a mid-20th century solid silver finger ring with a tapered shank with scroll-like decorative elements on both sides. The ancient Roman oval agate intaglio has a carved engraved depiction of a man standing in front of a pedestal, wearing a helmet, with his legs crossed and holding a long, thin staff, as he touches a large bird perched on top of the pedestal.

Condition: Some minor roughness to intaglio border edge, otherwise intact, overall excellent. Sturdy and suitable for wearing.
