Exceedingly rare faience Teapot, German 17th century.
Those who know the history of early European ceramics will recognize a much sought after piece, a “first” in a ceramic piece that is the predecessor provided the prototype for later German Porcelain teapots. The spout is in the form of a duck, held by a bearded man and the handle in the form of a lion. Excellent condition.
