The work of the Christian Ethiopians, it reflects some of creations of the Ancient Egyptian Coptic textiles and wood carvings of the Late Paleo-Christian Era in Coptic Egypt. However, for the scholars of Coptic Art, this especially attractive and decorative cross, brings to mind a subtle symbolism that pre-dates Christian motifs. A magnificent sunburst based on the motif of the Cross, makes the Cross of Christ an even more obviously Eternal motif as the Giver of All Life.
