179: Italian Renaissance Bronze of a Dancing Satyr

SKU: 179 Categories: ,

Description

The essence of the Italian Renaissance represented a re-awakening of the arts of Ancient Greece and Rome. Inspired by numerous Roman and Greek surviving bronzes, the Great Masters of the Renaissance created many of their own works of art as can be seen from this wonderful and very decorative piece of a Dancing Faun, possibly the work of a Renaissance Sculptor, but most likely a later work inspired by bronzes similar to one by Massimiliano Soldani-Benzi.  Ours is a very decorative and evocative art object.

Size 12 ¼ on the antique marble base, 9 ¾ inches the bronze alone.
