Retailed by the famous Yamanaka Stores which started in Boston in the late 1800’s and continued operating right into the early 20th century. The gilt silver and niello housing is fully signed Yamanaka and it was, until recently, the property of a famed family from Massachusetts. It was brought into this country by one of the Yamanaka Family members who scoured Imperial China before its collapse, to find and send back to America the very best that he could obtain for its high-class clientele.
