Description
It is an attractive Russian carved wood icon with an inset bronze and enamel triptych, which is decorated with blue and white enamels, mid 1800’s, excellent subject matter of the Mother of God the so called “Hodegitria Virgin” in Byzantine times; an excellent devotional and decorative piece which makes a striking and eye catching object to compliment any wall decoration besides being an object of veneration. The side panels of the small triptych represent scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary.
