Description
Ancient Greek figure of a seated woman, Tanagra, in a reclining position on a rock where she had placed part of her clothing and holding a bunch of grapes. Her mood is pensive if not mournful. As grapes were highly symbolic of Life as well as Death, she may represent a young woman who died an untimely death in her early youth. Excellent condition, wonderful example.
